It’s hard to call a gladiator cabinet premium, but it’s not bare-bones either. The interior feels solid and well-matched with a combination of strong and soft-touch plastics, and the style is chunky fitting and rugged. Of course, it must be properly stored for use and use.
Gladiator comes with a standard soft top or hardtop of your choice, and both are easy to install or remove. Remarkably, all models have a folding windshield and removable doors. This makes for a unique open-air driving experience in good weather and transmits great air and tire noise to the cabin when tied at the top, especially on a soft top. This can be frustrating on a long road trip.
Uconnect’s Jeep infotainment system is the easiest to use in the market and highlights the Gladiator cabinet. The standard 7-inch touchscreen and 8.4-inch touchscreens have direct menus, quick responses, and sharp images. Both are also paired with well-placed buttons and knots on the dashboard, making it hotter to adjust the sound settings and climate control on the go.
The standard engine of all Gladiator models is a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pounds of torque. The basic engine offers a maximum payload of 1,700-pounds and 7,650 pull power with the available Max Towing Package.
Buyers can replace the standard V-6 with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 that produces 260 hp and torque of 442 pounds-feet; diesel offers a 1,325-pound payload and a towing capacity of up to 6,500 pounds. The base V-6 comes out standard with a six-speed manual transmission; an automatic with eight gears of your choice can pair any engine. In addition, all Gladiator models are available with full-time-wheel drive.
